The current COVID-19 scenario in India has taken a catastrophic turn. Due to these doomed circumstances, every corner in India is going under lockdown to stop the spread of the raging waves of the coronavirus. As part of its precautionary meters and seating in mind the health and welfare of the youth of the future, the Government of Assam has decided to reschedule the summer holidays for the academic session of 2021.
Addressing the issue with an official notification on May 14, the Assam Government Secondary Education Department has voted to announce summer vacation in all schools of Assam from 15 May till 14 June. Customarily, the vacations were allotted in June and July. However, the Assam Government Secondary Education Department claimed to make this decision so that the students from 1–12 standards do not suffer any academic loss due to the suspension of physical classes in all the educational institutes of Assam.
This order only concerns the students in elementary, secondary, and higher secondary levels. Stringent guidelines have been released, which are to be followed by all concerned schools and colleges.
In a prior order, all governmental and non-governmental educational institutes, including schools, colleges, and universities were instructed to suspend all offline classes till May 28 due to the pandemic.
Nevertheless, the Assam Government urged the colleges and institutions to resume online classes so that students don’t experience any significant academic disadvantages.
