The Mizoram Board of School Education has recently issued an official notification affirming that all physical classes from pre-primary to 12th standard will proceed to remain suspended until further notice is generated.

After almost a year, the physical classes for the 10th and 12th standards were re-opened in January 2021 and the classes for the 9th standard were re-open in February 2021. Similarly, the offline classes for 5th8th standards and 3rd4th standards were re-opened in March and April respectively. However, as the state of Mizoram went into lockdown due to the alarming rise of the COVID-19 cases across the entire country, offline classes for all educational institutes in Mizoram were once again suspended from April 20.

All offline classes for the 20212022 session had been priorly scheduled to be re-opened from May 4. But due to the said order issued by the Mizoram Board of School Education on 12 May 2021, Wednesday classes will remain suspended till the pandemic situation is stabilized. Students as well as parents are ecstatic and are appreciating the Government and the Board for addressing the health of the future generation as a priority.

Admissions for the new academic sessions will be held online. The order issued on Wednesday also mentions that all schools or institutions that are hereby affected by the order can lead online classes for the students during this suspended timeframe, provided all means of conducting the classes are available.

The Mizoram Board of School Education has developed a Week-Wise Plan for the Secondary and Higher Secondary schools which shall be followed during this suspended period.

The Mizoram Board is also set to declare the Board results for the 10th and 12th standard by June 2021. The respective examinations were both held in April 2021.
