The 2022 edition of Campus France\u2019s Key Figures has stated that student mobility is back but
with changes. There is an increase of international students in France to 18 percent from five
years ago and it is found that there are 365,000 international students studying in France
currently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The total number of foreign students in France was essentially unchanged and there was only a
one percent decrease despite the pandemic in 2020-2021 compared to the previous year. This is
a negligible decrease when compared to the disastrous effects on other important markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The landscape of student mobility was affected by three exceptional crises namely the Covid-
19 pandemic, the Brexit, and the Ukraine crisis. The UNESCO report will be released after
analyses at the end of this year with the changes in the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


During the past two years, France served to be a welcoming nation amidst the Covid-19
pandemic and the effects of the war in Ukraine according to Campus France. France aims at
bringing 500,000 international students by 2027 and with regard to this, a new international
the student recruitment campaign was unveiled in 2019 by Campus France and the Ministry of
Higher Education, Research and Innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Students from the Middle East and North Africa make up 29% of the 365,000 international
students in France, according to the 2022 edition of Campus France\u2019s Key Figures, followed by
24% of students are from Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


France granted visas to 21,259 international students from Sub-Saharan Africa and 29,650
international students from North Africa and the Middle East which accounts for a 35 percent
and 24 percent increase respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


A worldwide recruitment drive was initiated by Campus France in 2021, focusing on non-French
speaking markets as students continue to choose France as their study abroad destination. It was
found in a recent study that 13 percent of all students in France and 40 percent of Ph.D. students
are foreign nationals. It is indicated that Asian students have been less likely to study in France
as visas issued to students from Asian nations fell by 40 percent between 2019 and 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
