A full-time educational TV channel named Vande Tripura was officially launched on 17 May, Monday by Tripura’s chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb and education minister Ratanlal Nath. The 24/7 television channel is to air pre-recorded classes for the school students of Tripura. The channel also plans to broadcast online classes, discussions, and education-related news. The live classes have been scheduled to start in June.
During the launch of the channel at the Civil Secretariat in Agartala on Monday afternoon, education minister Biplab Kumar Deb declared that 24 new reforms have been newly established to upgrade the students’ education even during the delicate times of the world pandemic. The decision was hugely praised by the Union Education Ministry.
Owning to the pandemic, the education sector of Tripura experienced a comprehensive academic loss for 14 months due to the cessation of all schools and educational institutes. Since most students don’t have access to smartphones and the internet, the government has resolved to launch the channel.
The decision was executed to defeat the restrictions brought about by the pandemic in the implementation of quality education and to secure the future of the forthcoming generation.
