- Delhi University is planning to introduce new courses for both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in line with the National Education Policy 2020 to accommodate more students in the university’s affiliated colleges.
- Hansraj College is planning to increase the seats from 50 to 80 in the B.A. program by introducing two new courses, namely, B.A. (Honours) Journalism and Mass Communication and B.A. (Honours) Music with 30 seats each. Zakir Hussain College has planned to increase its intake from 15 to 40 seats and the overall number of seats is likely to increase by over 600.
- Other colleges including Dayal Singh College, Shyam Lal College, Bharati College and Janaki Devi Memorial College have planned to begin B.Sc. Computer Science from the next academic year and Ramanujan College has planned to start B.Sc. in an operational research course.
- Deshbandhu College, Aditi Mahavidyalaya and Bharati College have planned to introduce Undergraduate degree courses with 40 seats each. Vivekananda College has planned to offer M.A. English with a batch of 12 students and PGDAV College is planning to offer B.A. English with 40 seats and M.A. Hindi with 16 seats.
- The Delhi University’s standing committee has already approved the new programs and is waiting for approval from the executive council. The University provides 70000 seats across 63 of its affiliated colleges for the Undergraduate courses and a total of 438696 candidates have registered this year for Undergraduate admissions.
