Delhi University to reopen in a phased and gradual manner

  • The Delhi University plans to reopen next week in a phased manner after a long pandemic break. The University is being reopened in a phased and slow manner due to a large number of students from outside Delhi and the campus accommodation available.
  • The Delhi University will begin with opening the libraries and then open the laboratories as the authorities do not want to open the floodgates and invite the third wave. The situation will be assessed and it will then be decided to reopen the other things.
  • The teaching-learning will, however, continue in a hybrid manner and it is voluntary for the students to attend the classes physically. The practical classes will be held offline but the students would have the option of attending practical classes physically with access to videos of sessions.
  • As a large number of students hail from outside Delhi, the students are given the option of attending the classes voluntarily. It is not possible to accommodate all the students in the hostel as the hostels will have to follow the standard operating procedures and only one student will be allowed to stay in a three-seater room.
